TOOLHOLDERS

True interchangeability and maximum Flexibility in one of
The industry`s broadest lines of negative rake toolholders
Valenite`s expanded line of Common Hadware toolholders is the heart of our negative rake toolholder offering, and your key to reduced toolholder inventories. Using the same shank, Common Hadware toolholders let you instantly choose from there different insert locking systems:
1.A lock-screw only for inserts whit center holes;
2.A clamp only for solid inserts; or,
3. A clamp and lock-screw for complete flexibility.
Unlike some competitive systems, Valenite`s Common Hadware toolholders offer true interchangeability with other suppliers who adhere to common hadware standads. Valenite top clamps, clamp screws, and lock screws are compatible with toolholders suplied by Carboloy, Kennametal, Sandvik, and many others.
Note also that all Valenite top clamps are of the comnient, adjustable “elevator” type for ease of use.
How to order example:
If you don`t know the exact nomenclature for the toolholder you need, page through the toolholder section until you find your application ilustrated in one of the aplication line drawings along the outside edge page. Then refer to the nomenclature chart to define exactly what you need.
An “M” type toolholder, for Example MTGNR 16-4D,will be supplied fully assembled with an ITSN-433 shim seat, an NL-46 lock pin, a CLI-9 clamp, and XNS510 clamp screw. For use whith a solid insert, an S-46 shim screw must also be specified.
To order the correct insert, refer to the insert chart next to the toolholder drawing for the proper type of insert, and then to the toolholder drawing for the catalog to select the appropiate grade and chipbreaker.

The International Standard For Positive Rake Tooling Has Never Been More Versatile Or Productive
Valenite´s Line of ISO-standard Screw-Down Toolholders use positive rake inserts with an ISO-6987 standard hole which are secured by a Torx* drive socket head screw--a mounting system that has been over the world.
The screw-down design promotes efficient chip flow by eliminating clamps and other impediments on top of the insert, profilling operations, and for turning long, sleender workpieces where the force reduction characteristics of positive rake inserts can help reduce deflection.

The International Standard For Positive Rake Tooling Has Never Been More Versatile Or Productive
Valenite's line of ISO-standard Screw-Down boring bars use positive rake inserts
with an ISO-6987 standard hole which are
secured by a Torx* drive socket head screw—a mounting system that has been
proven all over the world.
the screw-down design promotes efficient chip flow by eliminating clamps and
other impediments on top of the insert. ISO Screw-Down boring bars are
particularly well suited for profillng operations, and for boring thin walled
workpieces where the force reduction characteristics of positive rake inserts
can help reduce part distortion.
How To Order Example:
If you don't know the exact nomenclature for the boring bar you need, page through the boring bar section until you find your application illustrated in one of the application line drawings along the outside edge of each page. Then refer to the nomenclature chart to define exactly what you need. To order the correct inserts, refer to the insert list next to the boring bar drawing for the proper type of insert, and then to the insert section of the catalog to select the appropriate grade and chipbreake
RIGIDEX carbide-shank modular boring system

Rigidex is ideal for extended overhangs, and lets you bore, thread, and groove in diameters as small as 5/16".
This patented Rigidex Modular Boring System grves you the Important advantage of
carbide-shank tool rigidity so valuable to extended-overhang and small-diameter
applications. Because carbide shanks provide more than twice the rigidity of
steel bars, Rigidex boring tools have been able to achieve lenght-to-diarmeter
ratios of 8 to 1—and even up to 12 to 1-in actual production applications, using
the optional De-Vi dampening assemblydesigned for reduced chatter and improved
surface finish.
The Rigidex system also offers these Important advantages over conventional
brazed-head carbide-shank tool designs:
Designed whit your needs in mind, the new Rigidex Modular Boring System is competitively priced and will serve as your outstanding, thrused performer when operated withing recommended machining parameters. Although the Rigidex system is especially suitable for applications where carbide rigidity is important to good tool performance, it can to meeto all of your precision boring requirements for the automotive aircraft and other metalworking industries.
To help maintain your competitive edge, select the Rigidex tooling package that best meets your needs and place your order today!

Flex-A-Dex adjustale boring bars giveyou precision size control for holes down to 3/8" in size. A simple hex wrench enables you to flex the cutting end of the tool within a rangge from .003" under to .010" over nominall bore size. The adjustament is easy - and, once made, stays put.
You also get these important advantages:
Better finishes in the hole. The adjustament is up front. Behind it is a solid bar which provides the rigidity required to counteract spindle deflections often aggravated by bar overhand. generous size insert, clamp and screw to ensure top performance.
Indexable insert economy. Reduces tool-maintenance time and cost in jig boring and job shop operations. gives longer edge life, while cutting scrap and machine downtime, in high production operations.
Flex-A-Dex boring bars are also in a non adjustable style to provide the rigidity required in certain applications. These bars are similar to the adjustable style but are manufactured without the adjustament wedge to 0.10" below nominal size.
